The painting picks up on a line from the lyrics of the epic song „The Story of One Sky“ by Dimash Qudaibergen: „Can we balance on the edge...?“.
The scene of the singer looking across Sharyn Canyon is taken from a famous photoshooting for the music video. While the video clearly positions the song as a hymn for peace, the lyrics offer a second interpretation, as they can also be read as a call for environmental awareness. The landscape in this painting is crumbling, a swarm of indefinite birds looms in the sky.
